My brother very recently gave birth (by proxy, as it happens) to a boy called George.  Now this gives me an unusually cheap way of buying him "personalised" clothes in the future, but that's not what I'm asking, dammit.

It seems that the communist influence in our country means I'm expected to buy my nephew a present.  What is generally accepted as a decent present to a baby boy from his uncle?

So I think I'll write a short diary!

It is "quite literally" the deadline for the inaugural Music Fun Challenge, and the contenders are all is.  Anyone who feels like it can now download and judge them - if you've not already heard some of the entries, you may be surprised at the general high quality.

Is inside.  I will talk about little else: there are those who would claim that this is because nothing of note has happened to me recently.

A reminder to everyone that the music fun challenge is up and running, so if you want to enter, you have until Friday to do so (date is negotiable).

TPD's been harping on about a music fun challenge, so inspired by vorheesleatherface's earlier diary I think I've come up with the basic idea for a gentle inaugural competition.

Fits all instruments!

I went ahead and got a keyboard - and I'm glad I did because

1. Just having the physical keyboard there, immediately making sounds, is enough to inspire you with riffs that you'd never come up with by actually having to sit there and plan them out before programming it in.  Urgh.
2. Keyboards are much easier to play than I thought.  By any objective measure I'm still shit, of course, but with a couple of weeks practice I'll be able to play virtually anything that I actually want to play (I'll still be shit, like, but playing a 1 finger lead ready to be looped is hardly a full-on sonata.

Anyway, where was I?  HELP!
